O'Neill scaled the state rankings by moving to 164 from 229 this week, the biggest jump in Section 9 C-I. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of besting Millbrook 22-16.
Burke Catholic added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Liberty, 24-19. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Burke Catholic's dynamic duo of Justin Fenical and Matt Przybocki proved tough for the Indians to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fenical threw for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns and Przybocki had 53 yards receiving. Tom Connolly helped Burke Catholic's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 42 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Keegan West and Malik Chambers, O'Neill has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. West is tops in the league in passing with 556 yards, while Chambers has rushed for 1,336 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Ed Van Curen's team's Connolly, with 219 yards on 19 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Burke Catholic takes on second place O'Neill. The Eagles defeated Liberty last week, while Anthony Finochio's team beat the Blazers.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Burke Catholic's Connolly goes up against the Raiders' West.
