Baseball Recap: Saginaw Takes a Loss

Saginaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ryan Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 last Wednesday.

Saginaw saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Chancellor, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Chancellor a new career-high in hits.

Saginaw's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11-1. As for Ryan, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saginaw will square off against Granbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Granbury's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Saginaw's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ryan, they will be playing at home against Birdville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
