Tyrone is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Forest Hills is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tyrone Golden Eagles will take on the Forest Hills Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Tyrone humbled Penns Valley Area with a 35-7 victory. 35 seems to be a good number for Tyrone as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Tyrone got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashton Walk out in front who threw for 360 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes. Andrew Weaver was another key contributor, picking up 220 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Forest Hills took their matchup on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 53-13 victory over Somerset. With Forest Hills ahead 40-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Forest Hills found their leader in underclassman Xander Richardson, who rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Cornell, who threw for 210 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Tyrone against Forest Hills when the teams last played back in November of 2014 as the squad secured a 35-7 win. Will Tyrone repeat their success, or does Forest Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
