Friday just wasn't the day for the Wissahickon Trojans's offense. They took a serious blow against Downingtown East, falling 56-0. While losing is never fun, Wissahickon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Downingtown East is ranked eighth).
Nolan Pounds threw for 107 yards on seven of 21 attempts. Quentin "q" West was his top target, picking up 101 receiving yards. On the ground, Quasir Sampson rushed for 41 yards.
Wissahickon are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.3 points per game. As for Downingtown East, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Wissahickon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Downingtown East will look to defend their home field on Friday against Perkiomen Valley at 7:00 p.m. Perkiomen Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
