The Providence Grove Patriots won the last time they faced the East Davidson Golden Eagles, and things went their way on Monday too. Providence Grove was the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over East Davidson. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Providence Grove has managed all season.
Leading Providence Grove to victory were LAUREL BERNHARDT and MAILEY WAY. BERNHARDT scored nine points, while WAY scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was BROOKE INGRAM, who scored eight points.
Providence Grove pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for East Davidson, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Providence Grove won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Southwestern Randolph has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 358 points over their last six games. East Davidson will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bethany at 3:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Bethany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
