The Wrangell Wolves won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 80-20 defeat at the hands of Metlakatla. Wrangell has not had much luck with Metlakatla recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hailey Cook, who scored six points.
Metlakatla's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ryley Booth, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Bree Chavez, who scored 19 points.
Wrangell bumped their record down to 2-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Metlakatla, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Wrangell will head out on the road to challenge Metlakatla at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Averaging 57.1 so far this season, Metlakatla's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Wrangell better be ready for a challenge.
