The Cleburne Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Burleson Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cleburne is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Cleburne came up short against Midlothian and fell 56-43. While losing is never fun, Cleburne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1034th, while Midlothian is ranked 374th).
Meanwhile, Burleson's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seguin. Burleson has struggled against Seguin recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Cleburne's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Burleson, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Cleburne was able to grind out a solid victory over Burleson when the teams last played back in January, winning 57-49. Will Cleburne repeat their success, or does Burleson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
