Garber and Frankenmuth are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. Izzy Bernthal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bernthal was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Claire Edwards was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Sprowl, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Frankenmuth was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .636. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Frankenmuth's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Garber, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
Garber's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's game. The Dukes have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Frankenmuth, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Garber continue to outrun the ball?
