Baseball Recap: Chippewa Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Romeo typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Chippewa Valley proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Bulldogs. The win was familiar territory for the Big Reds, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Chippewa Valley got a great performance from Aiden Porretta as he tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Alex Hall was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Ulmer, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs.

Chippewa Valley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Romeo, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.

Coming up, Chippewa Valley will host Utica Eisenhower at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Romeo will be paying especially close attention to the Big Reds' contest: after the Big Reds face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Romeo again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
