Hamilton Southeastern faced Crown Point in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Royals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Hamilton Southeastern had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 27-25, 15-11.

Among those leading the charge was Maye Mcconnell, who had 12 digs and three assists. Madison Miles also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Bella Del Real and Elisabetta Bedoy certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Del Real had 26 digs and one assist, while Bedoy had four digs and three aces. Del Real is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games she's played.

Hamilton Southeastern's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Crown Point, with the defeat, they broke their 14-match winning streak and moved their record to 22-2.
