The Baldwin Highlanders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 37-7 defeat at the hands of Mt. Lebanon. Baldwin has struggled against Mt. Lebanon recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Lebanon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Fred LaSota, who rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Malone, who rushed for 23 yards and two touchdowns.
Baldwin's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.8 points per game. As for Mt. Lebanon, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baldwin will face off against Moon Area at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Moon Area presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Baldwin in Pennsylvania (Moon Area is ranked 46th, while Baldwin is ranked 174th). As for Mt. Lebanon, they will head out on the road to face off against Canon-McMillan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
