Chapelgate Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 57, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 64-57 to St. Mary's. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chapelgate Christian Academy in their matchups with St. Mary's: they've now lost eight in a row.
Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Julian Sabbat, who scored 22 points along with two steals and two blocks, and Justin Bishop who scored 16 points along with three steals. Mason Plater was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Indian Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 44-43 to Friends.
Despite the defeat, Indian Creek got a solid performance out of Aiden Evans, who scored 21 points. That was a full 48.8% of Indian Creek's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Harvin, who scored eight points.
Chapelgate Christian Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Indian Creek, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Chapelgate Christian Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 60.6 points per game. However, it's not like Indian Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 59.8 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Chapelgate Christian Academy came up short against Indian Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 79-70. Thankfully for Chapelgate Christian Academy, Kyndall Crawford (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
