Patterson Institute has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Austin Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 43-14, which was the final score in Patterson Institute's tilt against Irvin on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Austin came up short against Bowie on Friday and fell 58-45. Austin has struggled against Bowie recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Bernard Ferguson, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Anakin Torres was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Patterson Institute has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Austin, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-20.
Patterson Institute took a serious blow against Austin in their previous matchup back in January, falling 54-13. Can Patterson Institute avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
