The Grace Academy Lions had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 47-26 margin over Varsity Opponent. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-5.
Kalista Pressley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Miller, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Grace Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost 26 of their last 29 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 97-338 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Academy will challenge South Charlotte T at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Varsity Opponent will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Hope Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd.
