The Winfield Generals lost against the Chapmanville Regional Tigers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Winfield fell 47-36 to the Tigers. Winfield has not had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Winfield's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaitlyn Sayre, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Gabriella Canterbury was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six assists and four steals.
Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Chapmanville Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winfield will take on the Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sissonville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Chapmanville Regional, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m.
