The Haughton Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Captain Shreve, falling 61-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Haughton has scored all season.
Jyrin Sowell was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals for Captain Shreve. Another player making a difference was Ejoshua Mcdonald, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Haughton's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-13. As for Captain Shreve, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Haughton will head out on the road to square off against Parkway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Parkway's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 contests. As for Captain Shreve, they will be playing at home against Byrd at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Byrd will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 1226th, while Captain Shreve is ranked 46th).
