Westview has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Southridge Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Westview beat the Mavericks 52-44. The victory was just what Westview needed coming off of a 70-27 loss in their prior match.
Westview's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleah Medeiros, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dara Oluwafemi, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Southridge waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 68-58 victory over Jesuit. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Westview's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Southridge, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Westview ended up a good deal behind the Skyhawks in their previous matchup two weeks ago, losing 56-37. Can Westview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
