Pinedale has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lander Valley Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Last Friday, Pinedale faced Mountain View in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinedale fell just short of Mountain View by a score of 63-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pinedale's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Elyn Bowers, who scored 31 points along with seven rebounds, and Erica Wilson who scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilson has scored all season.
Lander Valley suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Lyman by a score of 40-37. Lander Valley has not had much luck with Lyman recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Pinedale's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Lander Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Pinedale took their win against Lander Valley when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 65-45. Does Pinedale have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lander Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
