The Vardaman Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Houlka on the road to the tune of 60-25. That looming 60-25 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Vardaman yet this season.
Kamri Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Vardaman's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Lucius, who scored nine points along with three blocks and two steals.
Olivia Halford and Madison Martin certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Halford scored 14 points along with five rebounds, while Martin scored two points along with five rebounds. That was a full 56% of Houlka's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Houlka struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-3) when they can't control their own glass like that.
The victory makes it two in a row for Vardaman and bumps their season record up to 4-12. As for Houlka, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
The pair will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Houlka is on an 11-game streak of home losses (dating back to last season), Vardaman a nine-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Houlka will take on Vardaman at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Vardaman has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
