Berkley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Schall, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Schall has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times she's played.
Meanwhile, while Southfield Arts & Tech put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Fordson. The Warriors put the hurt on the Tractors with a sharp 18-0 win. Considering the Warriors have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Keira Vails, 2025 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Vails, 2025 was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Southfield Arts & Tech got a massive performance out of Trinity Hester, 2028, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave Hester, 2028 a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cienna Bell, 2028, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Southfield Arts & Tech was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .792. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .412 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Southfield Arts & Tech is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Berkley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Berkley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .409. However, it's not like Southfield Arts & Tech struggles in that department as they've averaged .481. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Berkley took their win against Southfield Arts & Tech when the teams last played back in June of 2021 by a conclusive 15-0 score. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
