The Kinston Bulldogs might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was the McKenzie Tigers who claimed the real prize. Kinston was dealt a 46-19 loss at the hands of McKenzie. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Kinston in their matchups with McKenzie: they've now lost four in a row.
Although Kinston took the loss, they still got scores from Judd Green and Brodie Walker.
McKenzie got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylen Mcmillian out in front who threw for 228 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Davison, who rushed for 188 yards on only 13 carries.
Kinston's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for McKenzie, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Kinston will look to defend their home field on Friday against Florala at 7:00 p.m. Florala is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for McKenzie, they will challenge Houston County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
