Cahokia recap September 24, 2013
Brett Aldridge of Dupo ran for the longest rushing play in Cahokia this season against Red Bud last week. Aldridge scampered for 73 yards on the play and finished with 149 on the day as his team beat the Musketeers.
Carlyle moved up to 319 from 359 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians were able to move up by defeating Central 21-20.
Dupo's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Aldridge has thrown for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Tyler Barnes has 15 catches for 110 yards. Aldridge also leads the league in rushing with 272 yards.
The top two teams in Cahokia will face off this week when first place Columbia takes on second place Carlyle. Last week, Columbia topped Wesclin, while Carlyle bested the Cougars.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Randy Dooley's team takes on the Eagles. The Indians have allowed 54 points this season, while Columbia has given up 48. Carlyle allowed 20 points last week as it topped Central.
Scott Horner's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Warriors, 48-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Eagles.
