Basketball Recap: Braden Hundley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Westover Christian Academy over Temple Christian

Westover Christian Academy was the 47-39 winner over Temple Christian when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs took a hard 62-43 fall against the Temple Christian Crusaders on Thursday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westover Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braden Hundley, who went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Hundley a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hill, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Temple Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Cash out in front who went 6 of 11 on his way to 22 points and five boards. Cash has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Carter Cash was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Westover Christian Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for Temple Christian, they pushed their record up to 11-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Westover Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-36 victory against Timberlake Christian on the 24th. Temple Christian has also already played their next contest, a 56-47 win against Faith Christian on the 24th.
