The Olive Wildcats will square off against the Paden Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bryer Maxville was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Maxville was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Dustyn Bruce was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ty Cleveland, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Olive kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Paden had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Leflore 14-6 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Pirates needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Jax McNeill made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. McNeill was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That hit marked the first that he has got this season.
In other batting news, Paden got a massive performance out of Kanin Case, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That double was Case's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Cheatwood, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Paden's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Olive, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
Olive skirted past Paden 8-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
