The Stockdale Brahmas will face off against the Tidehaven Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Stockdale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 56-13 win over Santa Rosa. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Brahmas' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Warriors are ranked 623rd).
Stockdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Coy Gann out in front who rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 49 yards and one TD. Gann's longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards. Ricky Ayala was another key rusher, rushing for 167 yards and three scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stockdale was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 478 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in 15 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Stockdale didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gann and Trenton Gordon. Gann's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 161 rushing yards.
Meanwhile, Tidehaven put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Comfort 62-7.
Stockdale better keep an eye on Kale Russell. He was instrumental in Tidehaven's win, rushing for 119 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, while also throwing for 249 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Jullian Stockton was in the mix too, providing the Tigers with two scores.
Stockdale's record is now 9-2. As for Tidehaven, their record now sits at 11-0.
Things could have been worse for Stockdale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 28-14 loss to Tidehaven in their previous matchup back in November of 2015. Can the Brahmas avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
