If the Tulelake Honkers were feeling good  off their  55-34 takedown of the Surprise Valley Hornets last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Tulelake fell just short of Butte Valley by a score of  47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  loss Tulelake has suffered  yet this season.
  Leo Leon and  Daniel Garcia certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss.  Leon  scored 25 points, while  Garcia  scored 13 points. That was a full 56.8% of Tulelake's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 Tulelake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Butte Valley,  the  victory  got them back to even at 7-7.
 Tulelake will be staying on the road  on Saturday to face off against Hayfork at 5:30  p.m.  on January 20th. Hayfork has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 212 points over their last three matchups. As for Butte Valley, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Surprise Valley at 6:30  p.m. Hopefully Surprise Valley focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
