Le Roy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the York Golden Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Le Roy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully York likes a good challenge.
Last Tuesday, Le Roy strolled past Bloomfield with points to spare, taking the game 65-51. Given Le Roy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Bloomfield is ranked 493rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Merritt Holly Jr., who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last seven games he's played. Jake Higgins was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and four blocks.
Meanwhile, York stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard two weeks ago. They blew past Geneseo 77-48 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win York has posted since December 6, 2023.
Le Roy pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for York, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Things could have been worse for Le Roy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-47 loss to York in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Le Roy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
