Smithfield-Selma scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They were beaten by the Southern Wayne Saints 59-32. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southern Wayne to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nevaeh Hines-Bass, who went 7 of 17 en route to 22 points and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hines-Bass has scored at least a third of Southern Wayne's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymora Stokes, who went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Smithfield-Selma's record now sits at 1-10. As for Southern Wayne, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7.
