After three games on the road, Seminary is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the McLaurin Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-48, which was the final score in Seminary's tilt against Collins last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Seminary can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Collins is ranked 136th).
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, McLaurin beat Lake 57-52 on Thursday. The win was just what McLaurin needed coming off of a 68-44 loss in their prior game.
It was another big night for Michael Wallace, who scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. That makes it 17 consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of McLaurin's points. Treshun Watts was another key contributor, scoring four points along with seven rebounds.
Seminary's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for McLaurin, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Seminary came up short against McLaurin in their previous matchup back in January, falling 52-40. Will Seminary have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
