Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson). Everything went their way against the King Lions on Wednesday as the Jefferson Dragons made off with a 64-42 win. This was payback for the Dragons, who suffered a 30-25 loss the last time these two teams met.
Jefferson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Harmonie Charles, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Azariah Johnson, who scored 14 points.
King lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Heaven Pyfrom, who earned 18 points. That's the most points Pyfrom has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Jakayla Nice, who put up 12 points.
The win got Jefferson back to even at 5-5. As for King, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will welcome Blake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for King, they will challenge Armwood at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
