After two games on the road, A&M Consolidated is heading back home. They will take on The Leander Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully A&M Consolidated is not getting complacent, as they come into the match much higher ranked than Leander in Texas (A&M Consolidated is ranked 142nd, while Leander is ranked 716th).
Two Fridays ago, A&M Consolidated humbled Hendrickson with a 42-3 victory.
A&M Consolidated can attribute much of their success to Tyler Poling, who threw for 211 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellis Myers, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Leander's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two Thursdays ago after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Georgetown 52-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Leander in their matchups with Georgetown: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zane Wooldridge, who picked up 77 receiving yards and a touchdown.
A&M Consolidated's win bumped their season record to 4-2 while Leander's defeat dropped theirs to 1-5.
Everything went A&M Consolidated's way against Leander in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as A&M Consolidated made off with a 39-15 victory. Does A&M Consolidated have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leander turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
