Softball Game Preview: Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy Tigers vs. Riverside Academy Rebels

The Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Riverside Academy Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy sitting on four straight wins and Riverside Academy on three.

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by an 8-0 margin over Fisher. Considering the Tigers have won three contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ashtyn Rogers made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hayden Williamson was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Eden Randall also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Riverside Academy won against Crescent City Christian on Thursday with 17 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Riverside Academy put the hurt on Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy with a sharp 17-2 victory. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 14 runs or more this season.

Riverside Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 16 runs. As for Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy, their record is now 7-2.

Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Riverside Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Can Patrick Taylor Science & Tech Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
