Basketball Recap: St. David Skates Past Patagonia with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. David). They claimed a resounding 75-11 victory over the Patagonia Lobos. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 31 points or more this season.

Leading St. David to victory were Gracey Crockett and Emma Hart. Crockett went 10 for 15 on her way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals, while Hart went 6 for 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Hart also grabbed five steals, which is notable because St. David is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Paige Evans, who posted ten points and five steals.

St. David smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

St. David is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.0 points per game. As for Patagonia, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

St. David didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-36 win against Bisbee on the 16th. As for Patagonia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-22 loss against Hayden on the 12th.
