The Central Valley Hawks will square off against the Livingston Wolves at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Central Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Central Valley will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Pitman on Wednesday. The Hawks blew past the Pride 16-6. Considering the Hawks have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brooklynn Steeley made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2025.
In other batting news, Gabriela Delatorre was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reylena Herrera, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Central Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Livingston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Beyer.
Harnoor Jagait made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. Alexis Ross also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Central Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Livingston, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Central Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's matchup. The Hawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Livingston, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Central Valley continue to outrun the ball?
Central Valley might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Livingston in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
