Kell is 3-0 against North Springs since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Kell Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the North Springs Spartans at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kell has seven straight victories, North Springs has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Greater Atlanta Christian scored an imposing 32 points on Friday, Kell still came out on top. Kell took their match against Greater Atlanta Christian 42-32.
Bryce Clavon was a one-man wrecking crew for Kell as he threw for 268 yards and two touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also rushed for 131 yards on only nine carries. Clavon's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. Derian Thomas made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Another reason for the win was Kell's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Elijah Washington and Tyshawn Natt who racked up five sacks between them.
Meanwhile, North Springs was the victim of a tough 32-7 defeat at the hands of Centennial on Friday.
Kell's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for North Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Kell against North Springs in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kell since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
