Make it ten blowout wins for the Spencer Greenwave this season. They claimed a resounding 61-7 victory over Rutland on the road. With Spencer ahead 43-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Spencer's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Malaja Dyous, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Dyous hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Nadra Rosser, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Spencer's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Rutland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
Spencer's road trip will continue as they head out to face Jordan at 12:00 p.m. on January 27th. Jordan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while Spencer is ranked 205th). As for Rutland, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Southwest at 2:00 p.m. Southwest and Rutland are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
