They had to suffer through a rough 97-60 loss at the hands of Fortune Early College. John Adams Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-29.
When it comes to explaining why John Adams Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah McKee. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 51.7% of John Adams Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luciano Allen was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Fortune Early College got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mekhi Tanner out in front who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tanner has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabari Pugh, who scored 21 points.
John Adams Academy now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Fortune Early College, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
John Adams Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Kelseyville's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Fortune Early College, they will head out on the road to challenge the Explorers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Westlake Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Thursday.
