Tampa Prep is headed into Wednesday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Discovery.
Despite their loss, Tampa Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Bivens, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Myheir Session, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Tampa Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 18 consecutive contests.

Tampa Prep better keep an eye on DJ Gibson. He was instrumental in Clearwater Central Catholic's win, going 6 for 7 en route to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Gibson a new career-high. Church was another key player, going 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points and five boards.

With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Tampa Prep beat Clearwater Central Catholic 69-58 when the teams last played back in December of 2023.
