The Berne Union Rockets will be taking part in a tournament against the Delaware Christian Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Berne Union was handed a 21-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past Bishop Ready 8-6.

Reese Besco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Berne Union got a big performance out of Rylee North, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases North has posted over her last 11 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Josilyn Hedges, who earned one RBI, two runs, and three stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Delaware Christian made easy work of Shekinah Christian on Thursday and carried off an 18-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Delaware Christian also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Ava Hovda gave up just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Katie Hobbs, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Cosette Stump, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI.
Delaware Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.
Delaware Christian has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Berne Union, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Berne Union has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .540. However, it's not like Delaware Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .562. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Berne Union took their win against Delaware Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2017 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Rockets repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
