Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Purcell Marian). They put the hurt on the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls with a sharp 27-1 win on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cavaliers as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Ronan Ribar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eugene Ingram, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Hopkins, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Purcell Marian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .682. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Purcell Marian's win bumped their record up to 6-15. As for Mt. Healthy, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
