The Parker Thundering Herd had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 35-20 victory over Gadsden City on Friday. The win was familiar territory for Parker who now have seven in a row.
Parker got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chancellor Sparks out in front who rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Sparks was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Naeem Offord was another key contributor, rushing for 43 yards and three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Parker's defense and their seven sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Parker's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Gadsden City, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Parker will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Clay-Chalkville at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Clay-Chalkville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Gadsden City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
