The Clay City Eels posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 47-14 victory over South Vermillion on the road. Winning may never get old, but Clay City sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Kailyn Kirkling continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with four steals. Abigale Shearer was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Clay City's win bumped their record up to 9-11. As for South Vermillion, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-19.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clay City will square off against Dugger Union at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Vermillion, they will head out on the road to face off against North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully North Vermillion focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Thursday.
