The Classical Academy Caimans were the 51-33 winner over the San Diego Jewish Academy Lions when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Classical Academy ended up on the wrong side of a rough 76-52 walloping at the hands of San Diego Jewish Academy on Monday.
Despite the loss, Classical Academy still got an impressive performance from Issac Davis, who scored 23 points. Davis scored a full 44.2% of Classical Academy's points, the 13th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Crandall, who scored seven points.
It was another big night for Jack Silberstein, who scored 19 points along with seven blocks and six rebounds for San Diego Jewish Academy. Those seven blocks set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ethan Abeles, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Classical Academy will take on Tri-City Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Tri-City Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 175 points over their last three games. As for San Diego Jewish Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Lago Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
