While Neosho didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the St. Mary's-Colgan Panthers with a sharp 11-0 win on Saturday. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Neosho got a great performance from Alex Rodriguez as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Liam McInturff was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bostyn Patterson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Neosho always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Neosho's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Neosho Wildcats challenge Waynesville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neosho's pitchers better be ready for this one: Waynesville has averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for St. Mary's-Colgan, they will head out on the road to take on Nevada at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
