Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot took a 31-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grove Christian School. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grove Christian School apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Charlie Potter. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grove Christian School to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ore Oyefuga, who scored five points along with five assists and four blocks. That's the first time this season that Oyefuga posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Ana Roe Brown, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks.
Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Grove Christian School, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Brunswick Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Brunswick Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Grove Christian School, they will be playing at home against The Carmel School at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
