The Aubrey Rogers Patriots will challenge the Evangelical Christian Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aubrey Rogers has 12 straight victories, Evangelical Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Evangelical Christian's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Aubrey Rogers hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Aubrey Rogers never let Cape Coral get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Patriots have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Justin Lewis looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those zero hits allowed gave him a new career-low.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Christian Arias, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Harry Lyons was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Aubrey Rogers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cape Coral only posted an OBP of .222.
Meanwhile, Evangelical Christian fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Naples on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Sentinels have lost by just one run.
Ryder Lutz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 4-for-4. He has become a key player for Evangelical Christian: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Nick Tobia, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Aubrey Rogers pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Evangelical Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Aubrey Rogers has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Evangelical Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Aubrey Rogers couldn't quite get it done against Evangelical Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Will Aubrey Rogers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
