The Berne Union Rockets lost against the Wellington School Jaguars back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Berne Union had to suffer through a rough 50-15 loss at the hands of Wellington School. While losing is never fun, Berne Union can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 781st, while Wellington School is ranked 382nd).
Wellington School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dea Singh led the charge by scoring eight points along with six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gigi Manley, who scored 15 points.
Berne Union's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Wellington School, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Granville Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Berne Union will head out to face Granville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Wellington School will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st.
