Madison County won the last time they met up with Nelson County, and they shouldn't regret having come to the reunion, either. On Friday, Madison County won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Nelson County 21-20. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
The win bumped Madison County's record up to 2-4. The loss dropped Nelson County's record to 1-6.
Madison County will take on Central at home at 7:30 PM next week. Those two teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. As for Nelson County, they will face off against Massanutten Military Academy. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
