The Gwynn Park Yellowjackets scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 86-25 victory over Central at home. Considering Gwynn Park has won five contests by more than 43 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Gwynn Park found their leader in underclassman Maya Pitts, who scored 23 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Pitts scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Geornae Davis, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Gwynn Park's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Central, they bumped their record down to 2-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Gwynn Park's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Oxon Hill at 7:15 p.m. on January 9th. Hopefully Oxon Hill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. Central is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Crossland on January 9th.
