Ennis have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They and Culbertson go head to head on Saturday in their first playoff matchup of the year. Each of these teams will be battling to keep their three-game winning streak alive.
Culbertson got themselves on the board against Forsyth last Thursday, but Forsyth never followed suit. Culbertson were fully in charge, breezing past Forsyth 46-0. Followers of Culbertson probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected six blowout victories.
Meanwhile, Ennis came out on top in a nail-biter against Twin Bridges, sneaking past 22-20. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps state rankings were right on the nose.
Their wins bumped Culbertson to 8-1 and Ennis to 5-3. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
